Dickinson County Requests Your Opinion

We have posted two new questions in the Online Polls section of our website. Please take the time to read the information below and express your opinion.

***

The Dickinson County Historical Society is celebrating its 80th Anniversary. As the county's historical society, its mission is to promote, collect, preserve and share the history of Dickinson County.

Through the years, the Dickinson has developed many historical programs, but like everything, it takes money. If the Dickinson County Historical Society is going to continue its educational programs, preserving the historical documents and safeguarding all of the county's artifacts the Society will need more financial support.

Currently, the Dickinson County Historical Society is receiving $45,000 per year. We are asking the county residents if they would support additional funding up to $160,000 to ensure the Dickinson County Historical Society can continue to operate and develop at a professional level. The increased funding would cost a homeowner with a house valued at $100,000 about seven dollars more per year.

The question is: Would you as a tax payer of Dickinson County support this increase for the Dickinson County Historical Society?
