Dickinson County was founded in 1857. It lies along Interstate 70 in the third tier of counties from the northern border of Kansas. The County has an area of 852 square miles and a population of 19,700.

Kansas Sampler Festival
Dickinson County was well represented at the Kansas Sampler Festival held May 5-6 in Liberal.  Five Cities helped with planning and showcasing several attractions and local flavor that makes Dickinson County unique.

Work has been completed on the replacement of a bridge located at 2270 Washington Street in Abilene.  Washington Street is now open to two-way traffic.
