Dickinson County EMS wins 2010 BLS Service of the Year8/12/2010 - Dickinson County EMS Wins BLS Service of the Year Award
Dickinson County received several statewide awards during the recent Kansas Emergency Medical Services Association conference in Wichita.

Dickinson County EMS was selected as the 2010 BLS Service of the Year recipient by KEMSA during the Aug. 12-15 conference.

The award is given annually to a system that exemplifies outstanding professionalism and service to its community. Dickinson County EMS has seen many advancements over the last several years, constructing a new station in Herington six years ago as well as a new station in Abilene in November 2009. Dickinson County EMS has 21 full-time employees and provides paramedic level pre-hospital care with state of the art equipment to all of Dickinson County. This is the second time that Dickinson County EMS has received the award. It was also the recipient of the award in 2002.

“We are extremely proud to receive this award,” said John Hultgren, director of Dickinson County EMS.  “To receive this award again truly reflects the hard work, professionalism, and caring attitude that our paramedics and EMT’s provide our community and patients.

“It also would not be possible without the support of the Dickinson County Administration and County Commissioners in their commitment to provide top notch service for our citizens.”
